I’ve been keeping a close eye on Glossier (I’m talkin’ creep watching high school girls by a bus stop kinda close) and as the old saying goes – you always want what you can’t have. Unfortunately, Glossier doesn’t yet ship to Australia, so when one of my besties headed over to the UK, I was over the fricken moon to lodge a sizeable order for her to bring back for me.
Now, I’ve only tried a couple of these products so far because OBVS I’ve been waiting to take some pics of my loot for ya’ll first, but here is a little ‘why I got it’ and ‘what I think so far’. Stay posted for a follow up review down the track. Here. We. GO.
I’m pretty nutso about cream products at the moment, so I was excited x 100 for Glossier’s Haloscope highlighter in Quarts. They describe the highlighter as giving a ‘dew effect’ which I think is absolutely accurate. It’s much more chill than lots of the super shimmery highlighters on the market and I’m all about that for a relaxed weekend look.
Another cream product I got my hands on – the Cloud Paint blush in Beam is a straight up winner! The gel-cream formula makes it so easy to apply just with fingers and it adds a flattering coral hue to these cheeks of mine.
Generation G lippies are a sheer matte formula which people are going wild over. I picked up four because of who I am as a person. Jam is a berry magenta shade which adds an interesting pop to your lip without being too blamo! The shade Cake is an extremely low-key lip in a peachy nude, ideal for when you just want to give your lips a bit of a flawless, natural look. Like is your classic powder pink, creating a subtle flushed lip and Zip is ya standard red. Very much digging the sheer take on a classic and really loving all the colours in my makeup stash. They’re also do the job of giving the lip a bit of a moisture boost.
I love a super light base on a Summer’s day and I think the Perfecting Skin Tint in Light will give me just what I’m looking for. I’m a little concerned it might be bordering on non-existent, so I’ll have to see about that. I like a light base but I don’t want to use a product that makes no difference to my complexion.
Every blogger and their dog are raving about the Milky Jelly Cleanser and I fell for the hype faster than a school girl falls for the hot English teacher. I suspect it’s a very simple, no fuss cleanser that does a bang up job of removing every little trance of your daily face. Can it compare with my ride or die Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel? I’ll keep you posted.
I’ve repurchased a bunch of the Benefit Gimme Brows (which I think has been replaced by this) because I love it’s little spoolie brush as well as how it defines my brow hairs and fills out my brows whilst still maintaining an uber-natural look. I’m hoping Boy Brow in Brown is going to do the same, but hopefully better!
Has anyone else asked a UK friend to do their Glossier bidding? Aaaaaand more importantly, can you chuck in an order for me?!
Until next time…That’s what she said.
