My skin soaks up moisture like a 6 year old’s brain soaks up swear words. It’s always looking for that extra boost of hydration and apart from drinking plenty of water, I also like to make sure I have the products I need to keep my face and hair vibrant and non-parched. Here’s a little run down of my personal hydration station.
Kiehl’s Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence – I’ve never jumped on the ‘essence’ bandwagon before and to be honest, it kiiiiinda sounded like a bunch of bullshit to me. This changed, however when I read some of this products rave reviews and I knew I had to give it a try. I use this is a toner essentially and it does an amazing job at adding radiance to my skin. A ‘tall drink of water’ in more ways than one.
Kiehl’s Butterstick Lip Treatment in Naturally Nude – I’m constantly on the hunt for an amazing lip product that will leave my dry and sensitive lips moisturised and smooth. It ain’t an easy job but unfortunately my lips won’t do it themselves (lazy bastards). It’s a little too early to tell how I feel about this product just yet but I do really enjoy the subtle tint it gives to the lips. Plus it’s SPF 25 which is always okay in my books.
MV Organic Skincare Rose Plus Booster – This serum costs about as much as a dinner for 2 with cocktails but it reeeeeally is an absolute stunner. As the name suggests, it gives you a mega-boost of hydration but it also assists with calming red or irritated skin. Definitely worth the dolla’ billz.
Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate – I looove to slap on some Keihl’s Midnight Recovery Oil before bed, so recently I decided to try out their Daily Reviving Concentrate for daytime. A few little drops of this before make-up, leaves the skin looking just that little bit more revitalised and radiant. And who doesn’t want to look a little more radiant? AMIRIIGHT?
R + Co High Dive – Moisture + Shine Crème – With all the heat styling I do on this forgiving mop of mine, I like to make sure I’m not entirely taking the piss by ensuring I use some form of heat protectant. I like that this crème doesn’t leave my hair feeling oily, yet it seems to do the trick when it comes to heat protection and upping my locks moisture level. It’s vegan and cruelty-free as well so that earns it an extra tick.
What products do you use to give you that extra bit of moisture in the summer months? I’d love to hear some recommendations!
Until next time… That’s what she said.
