Longview wines are bloody great and I should know as I’ve been guzzling them down for years. So when I received an invite to attend Longview Vineyard for the Adelaide Hills Crush Festival with a coupla bevs and bites on the house… I jumped at the chance like a horse at a rodeo.
As part of the Crush Festival, Longview puts on an event called The Piece Project. A creative comp where four prominent street artists battle it out for the chance to have their art become the new label of Longview’s premium, reserve Shiraz, The Piece.
As soon as I click-clacked my heels into the oh-so-lovely Longview grounds, I just knew it was going to be a cracker of a day. Surrounded by lush green grass, large work-in-progress canvases and rolling hills and vineyards as far as the eye could see – this was a total slice of paradise.
Like the alcohol enthusiasts we are, we headed straight to the bar for a bottle of their ballsy Brut. I mean really though, is there any other way to start a winery day?
The DJ was totally cranking it. Churning out ol’ school RnB beats from the likes of Kelis, Missy Elliott, R Kelly and my girl Bey. At first I was like ‘Ease up deej, it’s only noon!’ and then 2 champers later I was like ‘Daayymmm this is my jam! Play on sir!’
On offer was a delicious selection of fare to line the stomach including mini hot dogs, pulled pork sliders and mac and cheese smoother than Don Draper.
We had such a great time sipping wine, lapping up the beautiful weather and watching some real masterpieces come to life. Can’t wait to do it again next year!
So where did you guys Crush?
Until next time…That’s what she said.
