I’m going to be honest…My Sunday was better than yours. Okay, okay I can hear you all asking, ‘how could she possibly know something like that?’ Well I can, because if you weren’t at the newest burger joint in town, Barry’s, well… you ain’t got nuthin’ on my day.
As the weather was an absolute cracker, we decided to roll down to Semaphore for a tasty bite and that, my friends, is where we found Barry’s m*tha f*ckin’ burgers. Okay so the name is simply ‘Barry’s’ but the m*tha f*ckin’ part is bound to slip out once you have your first bite of what Barry’s offering. Hoooooley Doooooley this is some good grub.
Barry’s opened its doors a mere 2 weeks ago but already, it appears to be running like a well oiled machine.
The place is a crisp, modern joint with black metals, wooden furniture, exposed brick and some pops of greenery to make you feel at home. It’s a place you wanna be in.
The menu has a little somethin’ somethin’ for everyone. A classic hamburger, the one with bacon and onion, a fried chicken, a coupla killer vego options and a few more for good measure.
I went with the Baz Deluxe which was beef, bacon, onion jam, rocket, cheese and mayonnaise. Sure, I could tell you that the bacon was a crispy heaven, the onion jam was like no other and the patty was nothing short of on-point, but I won’t. I’ll just tell you it was perfection because what more does one need to know?
There are two choices when it comes to the wonderful world of chippery. You’ve got potato chips and sweet potato chips. The potato chips were a total delight but the sweet potato chips are the stuff of legends. Like Cathy Freeman level, guys.
The final clincher for me was the sauce bar situation. One of my hopes for the future is that my children and grandchildren get to live in a world of free condiments. Barry has taken us one step close to that goal and I salute him for it.
Well, the owners of this joint have clearly found themselves some kind of magical compass because this place is on-point in every way possible.
Until next time… That’s what she said.
