Burger Theory, 8-10 Union Street, ADELAIDE.

Me last week: “I am sooooooo over burgers. Literally had enough burgers to last me a lifetime”

Me this week: “Shit this burger is sooooooo good, why the hell don’t I eat more burgers?!”

We all know Burger Theory, the food truck legend famous for deflowering our fair city of the almighty meals on wheels. And once our v-plates were taken down, Adelaidian’s were nothing short of hot and heavy with the food trucks about town. Particularly Burger Theory, because you know what they say, you never forget your first.

A few years down the track in the later part of 2013, the Burger Theory boys opened up their fixed home address in the Adelaide CBD.

Food gods, please forgive me for a have sinned. I have only just made it there.

You can’t miss this burgertopia branded with a neon sign as bright as the eyes of its excited patrons. A simple fit out with wooden places to perch and very little in the way of interior flare. Clean and inoffensive.

I gobbled down a #2 – a beef burger with bacon, confit onions and blue cheese sauce. I mean how could that be bad, right? It just can’t. And it’s not.

It’s juicy.

It’s flavoursome.

It has bacon.

It’s on-point.

My burger bud went for the Mexican inspired special with corn chips to boot.  He was diggin’ it however stuck with his theory (‘Burger Theory’ perhaps?) that nothing can beat the #2.

The guilt of causing order envy made me share mine. Now you know someone’s special when you will share your #2 with them… There’s a joke in there but Imma keep this highbrow.

First time for me trying the frozen custard and it was a creamy dream. Would definitely save room for that vanilla vixen next time I visit the neon sign.

It’s a solid A Grade from this girl.

My love for burgers might have kicked back into gear. Where should I head next?

Until next time… That’s What She Said.

  1. Nordburger, then Lucky Lupitas then Sauns Kitchen then round it off with one with the lot from Captain’ Chargrill in Malvern. Then grab a 10 pack chevvie burger from Burek Lounge for dinner.
