So the word on the eat street is that the almighty Nordburger is now churning out breakfast on the daily. And speaking of words, I got two for you – Chicken and Waffles. That my friends, is your password into breakfast heaven.
Nordburger, particularly the newer joint on Port Road, is going off at the moment and what better way to strike while the iron is hot than by extending service hours?! Serving breaky every day from 9-11 am, Norburger now has a range of bites including Macca’s inspired breakfast muffins and waffles that will cause multiple food-gasms.
WARNING: Heading there mid-week is a fool’s errand because the delicious dish you gotta get your mouth around is a weekend exclusive. And of course, I’m talking about the secret recipe buttermilk fried chicken with crispy waffles and whipped maple butter. *CUE CULINARY CLIMAX*
Take it from me, the salty, juicy fried chicken strips and light, fluffy waffles soaked with maple butter are the ultimate in salty/sweet combinations. I’m fairly certain the Maple Butter is made from HP’s Butterbeer and the feeling one gets after a killer haircut… but don’t quote me on that.
The sides on offer are cheap and easy, just like your perfect date. A coupla on-point hash browns for $1.50 are as rare these days as free city parking.
Don’t forget to wash it all down with a 95c cheap drip coffee and you have earned yourself the right to say ‘ya’ll’ for the remainder of the day.
Now I’m not going to tell you that you won’t have eaters regret at some point post-waffle (I certainly did when I felt that crash-and-burn feeling come on mid-afternoon) but I assure you that the I’m-on-my-way-to-obesity feeling will quickly fade, but the memories of that perfect plate.. oh, they will live on.
Until next time… That’s what she said.
